Shaping the Future of Brain Health: 3rd Stakeholder Meeting of the Swiss Brain Health Plan
On October 30, 2025, the 3rd Stakeholder Meeting of the SFCNS Swiss Brain Health Plan takes place during the SFCNS Congress 2025 at the STCC. This event marks another milestone in Switzerland’s mission to strengthen brain health across the lifespan – nationally and globally.
Since the official launch of the SFCNS Swiss Brain Health Plan in Zurich in November 2023, the initiative has built impressive momentum. Since then, the SFCNS Swiss Brain Health Plan has developed into a dynamic platform for action: new prevention projects, innovative educational programs, awareness campaigns, and international partnerships have already been launched.
The upcoming Stakeholder Meeting will deepen this work and set the agenda for the years ahead. The program will explore some of the most pressing questions for society:
· The economic impact of brain disorders and the challenge they pose to health systems.
· The role of prevention in reducing the burden of neurological and psychiatric conditions.
· The promotion of lifelong brain health, from early childhood to old age.
A highlight of the meeting will be the keynote lecture by Prof. Costantino Iadecol, MD, New York, on The Neurovascular Basis of Brain Health. In addition, a high-level panel discussion, moderated by Prof. Thomas Zeltner, MD, Bern, will bring together Swiss and international experts in medicine, public health, and policy to define next steps for concrete action.
The SFCNS Swiss Brain Health Plan is built on five strategic pillars – awareness, interprofessional training, research, brain health promotion for prevention, empowering patients – in line with the WHO and EAN Brain Health Strategy (2022). Achievements to date include the launch of the pioneering CAS in Brain Health at the University of Bern, the #BrainHealthChallenge2025 campaign, prevention initiatives on migraine, and collaborations with global leaders such as the WHO, EAN, and IHME. International recognition has also grown, with contributions to the World Economic Forum in Davos and the European Parliament.
The 3rd Stakeholder Meeting will not only showcase these successes but also focus on the future: expanding prevention, reinforcing international collaboration, and strengthening Switzerland’s leadership role in brain health.
Together, we are shaping a healthier future for our brains – and for society as a whole.
