Professor Raphael Guzman elected President of the Swiss Federation of Clinical Neuro-Societies SFCNS

Prof. Guzman is Head of the Department and Chair of Neurosurgery at the University Hospital Basel and has been an active member of the SFCNS Board since 2019. Since the launch of the SFCNS Swiss Brain Health Plan in 2023, he has also served on its Board, representing the neurosurgical perspective and contributing to key initiatives – among them, the development of a Memorandum of Understanding with the German Brain Council.

With Prof. Guzman, the SFCNS gains a highly skilled and well-connected leader, dedicated to advancing the federation’s mission with commitment, vision, and forward-looking energy.

The SFCNS congratulates Prof. Guzman on his election and wishes him every success in his new role.

Prof. Guzman succeeds Prof. Luca Remonda, who has significantly strengthened and advanced the SFCNS during his presidency. His leadership was marked by a strong focus on the common interests of all neurological disciplines, the launch of the Swiss Brain Health Plan, and the continued development of postgraduate medical education and training within the clinical neurosciences.

We would like to thank Prof. Remonda for his remarkable dedication and visionary leadership, and we are pleased that he will continue to support the SFCNS Board as Past President.
