SFCNS Summer School 2018 - Module II

The SFCNS Summer School 2018 - Module II took place from August 24-25, 2018 at the Inselspital in Bern. The SFCNS Summer School is mainly aimed at young neurologists, neuroradiologists, neurosurgeons, neuropediatrics, psychiatrist and other neuroscientists.

The Module II is constructed around the following topics:

Sleep
Epilepsy
Emergencies in the Neurocenter

SFCNS Summer School 2017 - Module I

The SFCNS Summer School took place for the first time on August 11 and 12, 2017. It is mainly aimed at neurologists, neuroradiologists, neurosurgeons, neuropediatrics, psychiatrist and other neuroscientists. President of the organizing committee is Prof. Marcel Arnold, MD, Bern.

In memoriam: Prof. em. Dr. med. Antonios Valavanis (20.01.1952-30.05.2023)

The Swiss Society for Neuroradiology (SSNR) has the deep regret to announce the death of its founding member, honorary member and past president, Anton Valavanis. Besides initiating its foundation in 1988, he was President of our Society for two periods, from 1993 to 1999 and from 2001 to 2010. In 1994 he was nominated titular professor at the University of Zurich as well as head of the clinic of neuroradiology at Zurich University Hospital (USZ), this would be an important event and thereafter Neuroradiological Units and centers started to spread across Switzerland, both in the university hospitals and regional centers. Together with Peter Huber he was one of the founding fathers of Neuroradiology and the leader of one of its two historical branches. He was co-founder and former president of the SFCNS.

He has been a pioneer in making Neuroradiology a central part of the clinical Neurosciences. His legacy in Switzerland has been immense and he will be missed by all his direct and indirect scholars.

We extend our condolences to his friends and family.

4th SFCNS Summer School 2023

The program of the 4th SFCNS Summer School focuses on the update with case presentations in Multidisciplinary Management, with four scientific sessions in the fields:

Stroke
Epilepsy
Movement Disorders
Neuroimmunology

The 4th SFCNS Summer School will conclude with the YouCliN award ceremony. Members of at least one of the SFCNS Societies profit from reduced registration fees. More informations can be found here.
